Giorgio “Gino” Occhipinti, a longtime resident of Tarrytown died peacefully on June 27, 2024 in Coronado, CA where he had been living for 2 years. Gino was born in Ragusa, Sicily on March 9, 1937 and was the son of Giovanni and Maria (Cilia) Occhipinti.

He married Rose (Falcicchio) in 1957 in the Bronx and the couple later settled in Tarrytown where they raised their 2 sons. Gino went on to have a 33 year career with General Motors. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, a member of Italia 2000 and a member of UAW Local 664.

Gino is survived by Rose, his loving wife of 67 years, his sons John (Patricia) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Peter (Yvonne) of Coronado, CA and his beloved granddaughters Lauren Occhipinti, Caitlin Occhipinti Carnetto, Alexis Occhipinti, Julia Occhipinti, Olivia Occhipinti and Jacqueline Occhipinti. Also surviving is his brother John (Mary) Occhipinti of Mahwah, NJ. He was predeceased by his sisters Maria Tumino and Raffaella Farruggio.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Sunday July 7 from 3PM to 7PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Monday July 8 at 10:00 at St. John Paul, II Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
