Francisca Aida (Abad) Farinas, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at the age of 92. Aida was born on March 9, 1934 I Havana, Cuba to Antonio Abad and Ana Maria Cruz.
On December 28, 1957, she married the love of her life Erasmo Farinas. They left Cuba to the United States in 1960 for a better life with their 1 year old daughter, settling in Brooklyn, New York where they welcomed 3 additional children. In 1976 they moved the family to Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown, New York. Her family was most precious to her, she treasured family gatherings which always included music and dancing was a must. Her great sense of humor was infectious as well as her laughter.
Her faith was also very important to her. She would always say, “Si Dios quiere” which means if God wishes. She was a member of the Seniors of Tarrytown, where she enjoyed playing bingo, and chatting with her friends.
Aida was predeceased in death by her parents, Antonio Abad, Ana Maria Cruz Barroso and stepfather Ramon Barroso, her beloved husband Erasmo, and her sister Maria Cruz. She is survived by her daughters Barbara Raysa Ferran (Arturo), Rhonda Fernandez (Michael), Rebeca Finnegan (Daniel) and son Erasmo L. Farinas (Maria), her cherished 11 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law Rafael Cruz and her brother Rene Abad.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Thursday from 4PM to 8PM. Her Funeral Mass will be at St. Teresa of Avila Church on Friday at 10:00. Burial will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery
