Frances Statira (White) Otten Obituary

Frances Statira White Otten, 78, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025. She was born on September 11, 1947, and lived a life full of grace, faith, and devotion to her family, friends, and community.

A proud graduate of Georgetown College in Kentucky, Class of 1969, Frances cherished the lifelong friendships she formed in Rucker Hall. Her college days remained a source of joy throughout her life, and she continued to stay closely connected with her beloved friends long after graduation. Her thoughtful letters, warm laughter, and enduring loyalty made her the heart of many cherished gatherings.

She married the late Fred Otten on August 1, 1969, and together they shared many wonderful years until his passing in 2012. Their marriage was filled with love, laughter, and adventure — including countless treasured memories spent yachting with family and enjoying time by the water. Frances delighted in the simple joys of life: a lively game of euchre, a good conversation around the table, and the comfort of being surrounded by those she loved.

A devoted Christian and faithful member of the Baptist church, Frances lived her life guided by strong faith and deep compassion for others. Her kindness, humility, and generosity reflected her belief in serving others and walking in God’s love. Whether through a comforting word, a thoughtful gesture, or a quiet prayer, she uplifted those around her with her gentle spirit and steadfast faith.

She was also proud to be a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, honoring her family’s heritage and lifelong commitment to service and country. For a time, she volunteered at Helen Hayes Hospital, where she worked in the thrift shop, bringing delight and warmth to patients and visitors alike. Her compassion and friendly nature touched everyone she met.

Frances is survived by her brother, Clinton White, Jr.; her son, Robert Otten, and his wife, Veronica Otten; and her two cherished granddaughters, Sophia and Camilla, who brought her endless pride and joy. She also leaves behind the extended Otten family, into which she was warmly wed, and the Longoria family, that her son married into — both of whom she loved deeply and considered part of her own. Her presence in their lives was a quiet anchor — steady, kind, and full of grace.

A funeral service will be held on November 22, 2025, at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and legacy. A luncheon will follow at The Greyhound, also in Fort Mitchell.

Frances will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
