Ethel Angst nee Hendrickson, a longtime resident of Pocantico Hills, passed away on September 6, 2023, at home.  Ethel was born in Valley Stream, New York in 1933, the daughter of Maurice and Marie Hendrickson.  Ethel married her high school sweetheart, the late Fred Angst and they raised five children together.

A passionate teacher, she received her art education master’s degree and went on to share her love of art for 35 years at the Hoffman School in Riverdale, NY and the Windward School in White Plains, NY.  She was an active member of the Union Church in Pocantico Hills and a frequent volunteer at church fundraiser events.

Ethel is survived by her five children: Donald Angst, Susan Angst, Tom and wife Debbie Angst, Carolyn and husband Rion Dluz, and Jennifer and husband Michael Iskra.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Steven Angst and wife Melissa, Lori Butler, and Alli and husband Brian Slaughter; Cole, Abby and Olivia Iskra and Sylvia Angst Pines as well as her great grandchildren, Declan Butler and Estella Slaughter.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 10th at Coffey Funeral Home from 2 pm to 5 pm. Funeral Services will be on Monday at 11:00 at the Union Church followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. A reception will then follow at Union Church Hall.
