Elizabeth 'Betty' A. (DiNunzio) Yurkovic

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth “Betty” Yurkovic of Somers, NY, formally of Sleepy Hollow on January 8, 2025.

Born in Dobbs Ferry, NY on July 22, 1945, she was the daughter of Matthew and Rose Lupi Dinunzio. Having grown up in Irvington, NY, Betty settled in Sleepy Hollow after marrying Marty Yurkovic and raised her family of five.

Betty was always interested in sports. Her main activity was being an avid bowler and enjoying time with her dear friends. She loved to play pickleball and never turned down a round of golf. Betty also enjoyed watching Sunday football games, especially the Kansas City Chiefs.

She will always be remembered for her kind heart and support for loved ones. She was a great listener for family and friends over a cup of coffee, a selfless person who puts others first.

Betty is survived by her husband, Marty of 57 years, her loving children, Christine (Nick), Andrea (Frank), Mary and Martin. Betty is also survived by her sister, Virginia Ruffler, and many nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren, Madelyn, Abigail, Derek and Julia will miss her deeply. She was always eager show them how to pitch, catch a softball or provide basketball tips. Betty is predeceased by her daughter, Judy Yurkovic, her sister, Lucy, and brothers, John, Joe, Dominick and Jimmy Dinunzio.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 2PM to 6PM. Funeral mass will be on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Transfiguration Church on 268 So. Broadway, Tarrytown, NY at 10:30 AM.
