It's difficult to believe my "Yankee" lady (as everyone in my world who benefited from Libby's stories and tickets and overall good cheer called her) is really gone.  I know one shouldn't have a favorite but Libby was definitely my favorite.  Freezing together at the day after opening day, when I skipped work for a day game, listening to her stories of seeing Shoeless Joe Jackson hit when she was a young girl, and of her conversations with Whitey Ford and the other old timers at their annual game were highlights of my time with her.  Her broad interests, charity, intelligence and energetic spirit will be greatly missed.

My deepest condolences to the Mascia family. I have fond memories of seeing Mrs. Mascia when she went to Yankee games with Sara and she would tell us what the Yankees were doing right and what they were doing wrong. Also on the occasions when I met up with Freddie down in Myrtle Beach for golf she would welcome me into their summer house and make me feel right at home. She will be missed.

dear cousins, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I wish I could be with you, but I can''t.  Know that I mourn with you.
When I read about the amazing person she is, I feel incredibly lucky to have known her and to me, she will always be, "Aunt Libby".  If not for the intervention of Uncle Mandy and Aunt Libby, my life would have another story as I would not have been adopted by Matt and Yola.  There is no way to say thank you enough for that.
I loved her and I love all of you.  She was the last of her generation, but I sincerely hope that we will be able to continue the togetherness that happened on Sundays at the home of Grandpa Nick and Grandma Mary.
Though I can not be there physically, I am with you in spirit.  My arms are around all of you as we cry and laugh and remember her.   Judy

Our heartfelt sympathy to the family. Libby was a dynamic lady who was way ahead of her time!
We will always remember her graciousness when we visited her at the beach in South Carolina. She gave the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour of the area including Brookgreen Gardens.
Her accomplishments will continue to serve the community for many years to come. We were privileged to have known her.
Respectfully,
Isobel and Carl Marcus

Dear Mascia Family,
In life and in death, we are neighbors (gate of heaven family plots).  I know the hardest day for anyone is the day you say, goodbye to your mother.  I wish I could be there but I live in Vero Beach Fl now.
I pray for you all and hope being together will ease your suffering.

All the best to your family,
Rita Marie Barron-higle

To the family of Mrs. Mascia:  I was saddened to read of your mom''s passing.  I remember her so well, she was a wonderful woman.  I also remember your dad (he was my doctor and also saw my daughter), both amazing people.  I was friends with Mary Ella and we were in Girl Scouts together.  I remember meeting at your house in the crest and all the wonderful times we had.  I know how hard it is to lose a parent but just know that she and your dad are together once again and I know they are happy.  God Bless!

On behalf of the entire staff of the Armond V. Mascia, MD Cystic Fibrosis Center at the Maria Fareri Children''s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical Center, please accept my sincere condolences.  Libby was an amazing person, and extraordinary member of our community.  I count myself so fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know Mandy and Libby, at least a little.  They remain powerful role models for me in my career and more importantly in my life.  The exemplified the quiet commitment to giving back to our community that characterize the truly blessed among us.

Dear Family, and you truly are a part of us, we send you all our love and best wishes as we celebrate a life better lived than most, dear Libby, who was an example to us all. We will miss her, but heaven is far richer for her presence and we are sure that she is surrounded by love and happiness. Surely there will be tears, but we are sure that they will be mingled with tears of happiness for having had her as long as we did. We love you all.  Betty & John
