Eleanor M. (Briggs) Tucker

Eleanor Tucker, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 87 years old.

Eleanor was born on July 6, 1937 in Ossining, NY to Earl C. and Margaret Briggs. She graduated from North Tarrytown High School and went on to have a successful career as a finance professional at General Motors, where she worked for many years before her retirement.

In1959, Eleanor married Kevin Tucker, and the two resided in Pleasantville. Eleanor’s family was the center of her world. She was a loving and generous sister and shared a special bond with her nieces, offering guidance and being constant source of inspiration in their lives.

Eleanor had a great sense of style, always dressing sharply and accessorizing beautifully.  She took meticulous care of her flowers and home, enjoyed a good book, and loved cooking for her family. You could often find her on the porch with a book and an iced tea.

Despite the challenges of Alzheimer’s, Eleanor’s gentle spirit and loving nature remained. Her courage and resilience in the face of her illness were a testament to her strength and character.

During her illness, Eleanor was surrounded by the unwavering support and care of her family.

Eleanor is survived by her brother Earl and his wife Gail (Maryann); her nieces Linda Hogan and Michele Briggs; and her great nieces Allison and Meghan Hogan. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Kevin, her parents, Earl and Margaret and her brother Donald Briggs.

Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Kings Street Rehab in Rye Brook, who cared for Eleanor with compassion and dedication.
