Eileen (DelCampo) Meade Obituary
Eileen Meade, 83, of Sleepy Hollow, New York, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025. Born on July 12, 1941, in Yonkers, New York, to Frank and Eileen DelCampo, Eileen was a woman whose life was marked by devotion to her family, her faith, her career, and her countless friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, John (Mitch) Meade, and their five children: Michael Meade, John Meade (Michelle), Bryan Meade (Kelly), Susan Moloney (Fran), and Tricia Zarro (Ernie). She was a proud and loving grandmother to eight grandchildren: Erin, Connor, Ryan, Maddy, Kylie, Danny, Jack, and Owen.
Eileen is also survived by her cherished siblings: Chris DelCampo (Maria), Frank DelCampo (Terry), and Bernadette Lingardo (David). Her brother, Kevin DelCampo (Mary Ann), predeceased her. She leaves behind many adored nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her with affection and gratitude.
Eileen attended Saint Joseph’s School and Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers and later pursued her calling in nursing by attending St. Vincent’s School of Nursing. She graduated from nursing school and went on to serve with compassion and dedication at Phelps Memorial Hospital for many years. She later became a beloved school nurse in the Tarrytown School District, where she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues with her warmth and care. Eileen was very involved in her local community as a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Order of Hibernians and the Sleepy Hollow Seniors.
Throughout her life, Eileen was surrounded by a large circle of loyal friends who shared in her adventures, her laughter, and her love. Whether gathered in a U-shaped ring of beach chairs in Wildwood Crest or cheering from the sidelines at her grandchildren’s games, Eileen brought joy, humor, and heart to every moment. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome — there was always room for one more at the table, in the car, or at the beach house.
More than anything, Eileen was known for her ability to listen and offer a kind word, a helping hand, or simply her calming presence. She lived a life full of meaning, connection, and generosity.
Eileen Meade will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Hers was truly a life well-lived.
Services will be held at Coffey Funeral Home, N. Broadway, Tarrytown, Friday, May 30 from 4-8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at Transfiguration Church, S. Broadway, Tarrytown, Saturday, May 31 at 10 a.m.
