Dorothy J. Garibaldi

May 27, 1928 – March 27, 2022

Dorothy was born in Brooklyn, New York to Roland and Edythe Brown. She grew up in Yonkers, New York and was educated there in the public schools. She later attended the Drake Business School. On June 14, 1950 she and John Garibaldi were married in the Church of St. Paul the Apostle. Together they had four children; John Jr., Jean, James and Joan. They raised their children in Philipse Manor, North Tarrytown (Sleepy Hollow) New York. The children attended St. Teresa School and Sleepy Hollow High School.

Dorothy was a dedicated homemaker and devoted mother. She was active in the PTA and was a volunteer at Phelps Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the National Association of Realtors and worked for the Finnegan Realty Company. She and her family enjoyed the Philipse Manor Beach Club along with the Tarry Crest Swim and Tennis Club.

In 1996 Dorothy and her husband moved to Peridia Golf and Country Club in Bradenton, Florida. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, bridge and mahjong. She also enjoyed golf and tennis. She liked entertaining and traveling. She loved visits from her family.

She is survived by three children, John Jr. (Karen), Jean Sidwell and Joan Weder (Rene), Seven grandchildren: Christopher and Cynthia; Paul, Phillip and Christian; Mary Ann and Jimmy. Nine great  grandchildren: Jacob and Joseph, Lucas and Ryan, Austin and Parker; Jeffrey, Avery and Braden. She was predeceased by her husband John (March 18, 2003) and her beloved son James (September 27, 2009).

A memorial service will be held at Union Church of Pocantico Hills on June 2nd at 11:00 AM
