Donald Gray Eder, a resident of Sleepy Hollow died August 24, 2021 at the age of 93. Born in Washington, DC on April 25, 1928, he was the son of George J. and Marcelline Gray Eder. Prior to Sleepy Hollow, he and his wife Doris had lived in Connecticut for many years.
Don earned a B.S. from New York University (1958), M.A. from Teachers College Columbia (1968), and Ph.D., Ohio State University (1970). Don taught history, political science, economics and foreign languages (French and Spanish) for 55 years at community colleges and for Berlitz and Linguakids. His principal, longest teaching assignment was at Jackie Robinson Junior High School in East Harlem (1955-67).
He served proudly in the United States Army having fought in tanks during the Korean War. He earned an Honorable Discharge for his service.
Don is survived by Doris (Muller), his wife of 60 years as well as an extended family.
