Constance Iurato, age 88 passed peacefully from this life on June 27, 2026. She was born on August 16, 1937, in Bronx, NY to Nicholas and Nettie Nardullo. Constance grew up in Tarrytown, NY.
She attended Washington Irving High School where she created many happy memories as Drum Majorette. She married the love of her life; John R. Iurato (Junie) of N. Tarrytown, in 1959. Mr. and Mrs. Iurato resided in N. Tarrytown for the first several years of their married life before moving to Briarcliff Manor and later Croton on Hudson. Constance was the proud mother of 7 children and 19 grandchildren. Her happiest years were spent as a homemaker, raising her children. She will be warmly remembered for her Thanksgiving Apple Crumble, Oatmeal Scotchy cookies, her love of the movie Gone With the Wind and historical romance books and movies in general.
Constance was a talented seamstress from the time of her youth, and while preparing for her 7th child to be born, in 1977, discovered her incredible talent for quilting. This became a beloved hobby and professional pursuit for many years as she attended quilting shows, created amazing, quilted showpieces and was the proprietor of a quilting shop for several years. Her handiwork will always be treasured by her family and friends.
In 1991, Constance and John moved to Danby Vermont and built the home of their dreams, where they enjoyed their final years together, surrounded by their German Shepards, horses and the beauty of the mountains. They had achieved their hopes of making a life in that beautiful country since they had discovered it on their honeymoon. Constance and John cherished each other throughout their married life for 59 years.
Constance is preceded in death by her husband John and brother Nicholas Nardullo. She is survived by sister in law Marie Nardullo, children Christine Iurato Guliano(Christopher), John Iurato, Constance Iurato Shofi (John), Nicholas Iurato (Alexandra), David Iurato, Jennifer Iurato Henicle (Ben) and Michael Iurato (Ann). Grandchildren Nicholas and Adriana Guliano, Dylan and Colton Iurato, Elizabeth Shofi Baumgardner (Alex), Aislinn Shofi McGee (Colin), Jack, James, Peter and Luke Shofi, Winter Iurato, Violet and Beatrix Iurato, Quinn and Max Henicle, and Alexis, Eloise, Charles and Joseph Iurato. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her incredible uncle Anthony Pircio aged 105!
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4PM to 8PM. Her Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10:00 at St. John Paul, II at Immaculate Conception Church followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
