Anthony J. Ruggiero, Sr., a former longtime Tarrytown resident, died September 24, 2024 at the age of 90. Born in the Bronx on July 28, 1934, he was the son of Joseph and Assunta (Barilli) Ruggiero. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Willard Keith.
Tony went on to have a long career in the Department of Public Works for the Village of Tarrytown and was a Sanitation Foreman at the time he retired. Tony was also a member of Phenix Hose of the Tarrytown Fire Department. Shortly after he retired he moved to Boca Raton, Florida to enjoy life with longtime companion, Joanann.
Tony is survived by his loving daughters Dorinne Ruggiero of Tarrytown and Danielle (Eddie) Santiago of West Harrison; his daughter-in-law Ellen Ruggiero; his granddaughters Andrea (Erica A.) Ruggiero, Erica (Colin) Houlihan and Alyssa Santiago and his great grandchildren Teagan and Anthony John (AJ) Houlihan. He was predeceased by his son Anthony, Jr. (2010), his grandson Eduardo Santiago (2012) and his loving partner Joanann DeFiglia (2017).
Visitation will be on Saturday September 28, 2024 from 1PM to 5PM at Coffey Funeral Home where services will be at 3:00.
