Anne Marie (Schiavoni) Randazzo passed away suddenly Friday, May 6.
Annie grew up in a large family in Haverhill, MA and never quite lost her Massachusetts accent, much to our delight. She graduated from Marymount College in Tarrytown, and earned a Masters of Art Degree from The College of New Rochelle. While attending Marymount she met her loving husband Joseph and settled down in Tarrytown where they raised their three wonderful sons.
Annie was an art teacher for Croton and Tarrytown schools. Her talents were limitless: an accomplished seamstress, quilt maker, fluent in Italian and a true lover of the arts. It was such a delight to have the door bell ring and see Annie with a bouquet of flowers, chocolates and a thoughtful gift that showed she really knew you. She made it a point to regularly visit with friends and family and to always keep in touch, her energy was boundless.
Annie loved Tarrytown and gave so much back to her community. She had a heart of gold and dedicated her life to volunteerism - one such position at Phelps Memorial Hospital - screening the hearing of newborns, she described as “pure joy”. Annie also adored the senior citizens of Tarrytown and always availed herself to them. Whether it was driving to doctor appointments, food shopping or just sitting down to tea and conversation. And how she loved her tea!
Annie couldn’t have been a more devoted wife and mother. She supported the men in her family in every way she could. On game day at Sleepy Hollow High School you could always find Annie running the snack stand - part of the Wolfpack program, with her huge, beautiful smile and an enthusiastic greeting.
Annie was a proud and doting Aunt, Great Aunt, Great-Great Aunt and Godmother - how she loved to regale stories about their triumphs and successes. She cherished their annual vacation at Moody Beach in Wells Maine with her loving New England clan. She would fly/drive or take a train to meet each new member of her growing family, bringing handcrafted gifts. Annie was blessed to have a tight knit group of friends who celebrated and supported each other through the highs and lows of life.
Annie was absolutely over the moon about becoming a Grandmother to precious Lucia (Lu), a more proud Grandma you could not find.
Annie is survived by her husband Joseph, their three sons, John, James, Joseph Jr. wife Bridget and their daughter Lucia. Her siblings/brothers/sisters-in-law: Tim Schiavoni and wife Cilla, Tom Schiavoni and wife Mary McGee, Michael Schiavoni and wife Shirley, Mary Liz Schiavoni, Marilyn Schiavoni, Kevin Schiavoni, Marian Randazzo, Joni (Randazzo) Osborne and husband David, David Randazzo and wife Lillian, Mother-in-Law Rhoda Randazzo. And all of her beautiful nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her name may be made to:
