Anna M. (Morabito) Zambelletti Obituary

Anna M. Zambelletti, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend peacefully passed from this life on February 22, 2025.

Anna was born on November 11, 1936, in Tarrytown, New York to the late Frank and Francis Morabito in Tarrytown and was a graduate of Washington Irving High School class of 1955. She worked at County Trust Bank and then General Motors for a short time before meeting the love of her life Salvatore whom she was married to for 66 years and had two children.

After the birth of her children, Anna was stricken with RA. She struggled with this autoimmune disease all of her adult life, but her indomitable spirit, never made her illness define her. Anna found strength with the help of her faith and the love and support of her husband Salvatore. Anna dedicated herself to raising a family. She was very involved in her children’s education and was room mother several times.

After raising her children, Anna became a licensed beautician and had a small home salon where she had many happy customers. Anna also became active in local organizations. She enjoyed working for the Board of Elections for many years, and served as President of the Transfiguration Women’s Club, at the Transfiguration Church.

Anna was proud and honored to serve on the board for many years as President, Vice President and Treasurer, of the Tarrytown Seniors. Her devotion to making the TT seniors a place for everyone to connect and enjoy organized events was extremely important to her.

She enjoyed taking pictures and was titled the “family photographer”.  She had volumes of pictures documenting her many trips and family events.

She always looked forward to meeting with “The Girls”, her best friends from Grade School through High School, for a coffee and catch-up visit which has continued to the present.

Anna cherished her family. Her greatest joy was gathering all of her family together and cooking a big Italian meal and baking all of her special deserts. She cooked everything with love, carefully preparing each recipe.

Anna and Salvatore fancied traveling together to many destinations, including Italy, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Canada, Alaska, Acapulco, Bermuda, and many other destinations in our great USA.
The highlight of many of their trips was visiting pilgrimage sites such as Our Lady of Lourdes, Vatican City, Our Lady of Fatima, and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Anna’s faith was the backbone of her life. She was a devout Catholic and later became a Third Order Carmelite.

Anna is survived by her husband Salvatore, her two children, Peter (Lisa) Zambelletti, Gloria (Todd) Nilsson, grandchildren Scott Nilsson, Derek Nilsson, Dana (Andrew) Morrison, Peter (Nicole) Zambelletti, Renee (Kevin) Zajc, and Evan Zambelletti, and great grandchildren Amelia Morrison, Ethan Morrison and Mia Zambelletti. Anna is also pre-deceased by her brother Joseph, survived by her brother Domenic Morabito and her two nephews Frank (Georgine) Morabito, Domenic (Dina) Morabito and great nieces and nephews Nicholas, Domenic, Frank, Sofia, Isabella, Georgine, and many loving cousins.

As per Anna's wish, there will not be any visitation.

Her Funeral Mass will be on Thursday February 27 at Transfiguration Church at 10:30 followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to one of Anna's favorite charities would be greatly appreciated.
