Alci Taveras, a resident of Sleepy Hollow died peacefully at home on June 27, 2024. He was 77 years old. Born in the Dominican Republic on August 20, 1946, he was the son of Jose Manuel Taveras and Ramona Ovalles.
Alci had owned and operated a grocery store, Taveras Grocery which was on Clinton Street in Sleepy Hollow.
He is survived by his wife Juana (Gonzalez) and his children Yubelkys, Max, Alci, Lisette, Maria and Jose Aníbal. Also surviving are his grandchildren Yuliette Javier and Luis Javier as well as his sister Josefa de la Cruz and his brother Espedito Taveras.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Monday July 1 from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be at St. Teresa of Avila Church on Tuesday July 2 at 11:00 followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
