Walter James Ceconi, a lifelong resident died January 16, 2020 in Sleepy Hollow, NY. He was born September 25, 1932 in North Tarrytown to Giacomo and Clara Ceconi. He graduated North Tarrytown High School in 1951.
During the Korean War, he served in the US Army. He married Barbara Tuttle at Immaculate Conception Church in 1964.
Walter was an Electrician with the IBEW until his retirement. He was a proud member of the IBEW Union. He was a member of Columbia Hose of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department, a parishioner of St. Teresa of Avila Church and the member of the Sleepy Hollow GOP. He was also an avid gardener.
Walter is survived by Barbara, his wife of 55 years; his daughter Amy Ceconi-Cavalieri (Joe) and his grandchildren Cassandra, Joseph and James Walter. He was predeceased by his brothers Aldo and Eugene and his sisters Giovanna (Jenny) Ceconi, Irene Zegarelli and Edith Fratta.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Monday from 3PM to 7PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at 11:00 at St. Teresa of Avila Church followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
