Vincent Krizman

Vincent Krizman (“Vinko” Krizmancic)

June 30th, 1923 - December 9th, 2017

Vinko Krizmancic was born in Trieste, Italy on June 30th, 1923 to Anton and Ana (Cebron) Krizmancic.  During WW II he served with the Allied Forces and after the war he spent the next 6 years working on cargo ships as a merchant seaman throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and South America before coming to New York in 1951.  During his travels his love of conversation allowed him to acquire multiple languages.  In 1955 he married Concetta Fina and shortly thereafter they purchased their home in North Tarrytown.  Vincent had a love of cooking, gardening, fishing and dancing with family and friends.

He is survived by his 3 children Ann Marie (Kevin Morley), Bronx, NY, Michael (Colleen) and Anthony (Jane) all of Manlius, NY.  His wife of 53 years, Connie, predeceased him in 2008.  He was also predeceased by his parents and six siblings.  Vincent is also survived by his loving grandchildren Anthony, Hanna, Kevin, Jimmy, Luke, Vincent and Ella, by his sister, Matilda of Italy and many nieces and nephews.  During his final years Vincent was most lovingly cared for by his 2 devoted aides, Doreen Robinson and Adris Mendez. 

He was employed for over 30 years as a Stationary Engineer for General Motors in North Tarrytown before retiring in 1985.  He was also a retired member of the International Union of Operating Engineers.  Vincent served proudly as a charter member of North Tarrytown Ambulance Corp as well as the North Tarrytown Fire Patrol.  Vincent passed away peacefully at his Sleepy Hollow home on December 9th, 2017. 

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Tuesday (today) from 4PM to 8 PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday at 10:00 at St. Teresa of Avila Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in his name to Sleepy Hollow Ambulance Corp or Sleepy Hollow Fire Patrol would be greatly appreciated.
