Sr. Edna (Sr. Henri) Lutton, RSHM, 94, died at Marymount Convent, Tarrytown, NY, January 24, 2013.
Born in 1918 in Jersey City, NJ, to Harry and Ethel Marshall Lutton, she entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary in Tarrytown, NY in 1939.
Sr. Edna taught at Marymount Secondary School, Tarrytown, NY; the Academy of the Sacred Heart of Mary, Manhattan, NY; Marymount School of New York. She taught at Marymount (College/University), Arlington VA and Marymount Manhattan College. She was principal of Marymount International School, Rome, Italy; superior of Istituto Marymount, Via Nomentana, Rome and Marymount School, Bougival, France.
She taught at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, West Windsor, NJ; at Mercer County Community College, West Windsor, NJ; and Rider University, Lawrenceville, NJ.
She is predeceased by her sisters, Ethel Flaherty, Dorothy Tuohy, Mildred Hanley, and her brother, William Lutton. She is survived by her sister, Harriet Halsey of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Services at Marymount Convent, 32 Warren Avenue, Tarrytown, NY. Visiting Thursday, January 31, 3:00 - 7:30 pm, Vigil Service 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, February 1, 10:30 am. Burial Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her name may be made to Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, 50 Wilson Park Drive, Tarrytown, NY, 10591.
