Welcome to the memorial page for

Sally L. (von Holzhausen) Isler

March 22, 1946 ~ August 17, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Sally L. Isler of Boalsburg, Pa., passed away on August 17, 2017 in Bellefonte, Pa., surrounded by her family.

A native of Sleepy Hollow, she was the daughter of Marie (Eberhardt) von Holzhausen and Jack von Holzhausen, also of Sleepy Hollow.

A lifelong animal lover and rescuer, Sally was the animal control officer for many years at the Sleepy Hollow Police Department. Whether it was a hurt deer, a baby raccoon, or a homeless dog, she would step in to help.

Sally was a free spirit, quick with an infectious smile and always ready to share a laugh. The only thing she loved more than her dogs and her horses was her family.

Her four grandchildren, Elise Risio and Jack Risio of Boalsburg, Pa., and Phoebe Isler and Erich Isler of Trumbull, Ct., —were a constant source of joy for her.

She was the proud aunt of two nephews—Franz von Holzhausen of California and Kurt von Holzhausen of New York, and one niece—Ingrid (von Holzhausen) Vanni of Maine.

She is survived by her brother, Frank von Holzhausen of Guilford, Ct. and her two children, Hans K. Isler of Trumbull, Ct. and Erika L. Isler of Boalsburg, Pa.

Her husband, Robert (Bob) Isler, preceded her in death.

Her family will host a celebration of her life gathering at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown, N.Y. on September 30, 2017 from 3 to 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made in her name to her two favorite charities, the SPCA of Westchester (http://www.spca914.org) or the ASPCA (www.aspca.org).
