Pauline Di Salvo, a long-time resident of Hartsdale, NY and most recently of Kendal on Hudson in Sleepy Hollow, passed away on June 22, 2018 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by Nicholas Di Salvo, her husband of over 60 years. She is survived by their two sons, Allan, a retired attorney, in White Plains, NY and Donald, an associate professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
Pauline was born in New York City. She married Nicholas, her high school sweetheart, and they lived for a short time on the west coast during her husband’s military service. They subsequently settled back east in Hartsdale where they raised their 2 sons. She was a devoted housewife who also loved the outdoors, enjoying gardening, tennis, painting, water and snow skiing. She spent many happy years at the family summer home at Twin Lakes, CT in the Berkshires.
She traveled extensively with her husband; especially memorable was a 4-month cruise through the islands of the South Pacific. She and her husband also lived for extended periods in Alexandria and Cairo as well as Taiwan during her husband’s teaching sabbaticals.
She will be remembered for her sense of humor and easy laugh, and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
