Patricia Mary Miller DeCristofaro, a long time resident of Tarrytown, died on August 26, 2019 at the age of 91. Born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Mary Benner Miller and Raymond H. Miller and trained and had an early career as young girl as a dancer. She married Victor F. DeCristofaro on May 24, 1952 and lived in the Bronx (Immaculate Conception parish, Gun Hill Road) until after Victor’s death in 1982. Victor had become proprietor of Harnik Bros. Jewelers in the center of Tarrytown and after his death, Pat and her son Stephen took over and have operated the store there for the past thirty-seven years. Pat worked in the store well into her 80’s and then frequented there nearly every day until she died. She became a well-known fixture in town with many good friends and prided herself on following everything that happened in town until the very end.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth DeCristofaro, her daughter Mary Ann DeCristofaro Kelly and son-in-law Joseph Kelly, and her son, Stephen DeCristofaro. She is also survived by her beloved grandsons, Joseph and Thomas Kelly, and was so happy to have made it to the joyous occasion of Joey’s wedding to Lindsay Mahl in July. She was predeceased by her husband of over thirty years, Victor F. DeCristofaro, and her brother, Nicholas Miller. She was blessed with close extended family and is also survived by her nieces and nephews and their spouses and families: Anne Marie Gerhard, Joan Mellusi, Robert DeCristofaro, Anthony Fortunato, John Fortunato, Fr. Vincent Fortunato, O.F.M. Cap. , Donald Miller, Cynthia Miller Leonard, and Nicholas Miller, Jr. In the last years of her life she was also blessed to have Boda, Monika, Caterina and Raduz to provide her with wonderful loving care, companionship and assistance as well as the extraordinary unfailing support of her friends Marion Snizak, George Carr and his wife Jill.
Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. on August 29, 2019 at the Church of the Transfiguration Tarrytown, New York, followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, New York where she will be buried with her husband Victor.
