Welcome to the memorial page for

Nick Ranieri

June 12, 1940 ~ August 30, 2017 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Dominick F. (Nick) Ranieri passed away on August 30, 2017 at home with his family by his side.

Nick was born on June 12, 1940 in Tarrytown, NY to Gaetana and Frank Ranieri.

Nick was a lifelong resident of Tarrytown, NY. He was a member of the Sleepy Hollow High School Class of 1959. He spent 34 years working for the U.S. Postal Service and was an active member of Phenix Hose Fire Co No. 2 since he was 18 years old.

Nick had the very good fortune of retiring at a young age and used that time to drive cab, play with his grandchildren, take walks with his wife by the river and of course there was always time to smoke a cigar and “DO RELAX”.

Nick to all who knew him was a genuine “character”. He was an avid football fan, car enthusiast, poker player and all-around fun guy. There wasn’t a party where he didn’t grab the microphone and sing a little Doo Wop.

Nick’s family was his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia (Kelly), his three daughters all of Tarrytown, NY; Michele (Jason) Mauguin, Gina (Ken) Mueller and Tricia (Kevin) McNally; his six beautiful grandchildren; Michael Mauguin, Julian, Quinn, Mae and Charlie Mueller and Rebecca McNally, his brother Patrick Ranieri of Indian Harbor Beach, FL, cousins Nicky Morabito and Anna Zambelletti who were like a brother and sister to him, his best friends Tom and Barbara Deely and so many other close relatives and friends.

Nick’s family will receive family and friends at Coffey Funeral Home, 91 N Broadway, Tarrytown, NY on Monday, September 4, 2017 from 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 10:30 am, Transfiguration Church, 268 S Broadway, Tarrytown, NY with internment to follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetary.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of the many years Nick spent both on and off the field walking the sidelines of SHHS, donations may be sent to the Sleepy Hollow High School Football Boosters (c/o Christine Good 38 Union Street, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510). The family will also be accepting donations for Nick’s most cherished caretakers, who enabled him to remain in the comfort of his own home to the very end.
