Lucille 'Cookie' Mathieson

Lucille ‘Cookie’ Mathieson, a lifelong resident of the Tarrytowns died June 27, 2017 at the age of 85. Cookie was born in North Tarrytown on April 27, 1932 and was the daughter of Donato and Carmella Russo Tornello. After graduation from North Tarrytown High School, Cookie went on to have a long career in the Business Offices at General Motors.

In 1965, she married the love of her life, William Mathieson in Immaculate Conception Church and they settled in Tarrytown. They had been married for 48 year when he predeceased her in 2013.

Cookie had been a member of the Tarrytown Seniors. She and Bill loved to travel. She will be remembered as a kind and caring person who loved her family and especially loved spending time with her many nieces and nephews. She was also a great animal lover.

Cookie is survived by her brother Daniel in CA and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Patsy, Salvatore, John and Patrick and her sisters Lena Valente, Mary Cornell, Frances Tornello and Virginia Kinnie.

Visitation will be Friday (today) at Coffey Funeral Home from 4PM to 8 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 10:30 at Transfiguration Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
