Kytsa Kyriakidis, a longtime resident of Sleepy Hollow passed away September 14, 2019 after a long illness. She was 84. Born in Alonakia, Greece on September 5, 1935, she was the daughter of Theodore and Sona Tsolakidou Tsekeridis.
Kytsa was married to Paul Kyriakidis, and along with their three children they emigrated to Tarrytown in September 1969, joining her mother and brother to provide better opportunities for her family. In addition to raising her family she was a seamstress and dressmaker and had other jobs to help support her family. She will always be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother and a devoted and loving grandmother. Her grandchildren were the center of her life and she was always saying ‘my grandchildren are the best’.
Kytsa is survived by her loving husband Paul, her loving children Savvas (Marinna) Kyriakidis, Despina (Anthony) Sciaraffa and Theodora (Michael) Ulacco as well as her beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Jonathan, Marc, Anthony, Daniel, Paulie and Mikey. Also surviving are her siblings Elias Tsekerides, Despina Simeoforides and Maria Karanikolas. She was predeceased by her brother John Tsekeridis and her sister Anna Marolis.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Monday from 4PM to 8PM. Her Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 11:00 at Prophet Elias Church in Yonkers. Interment will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
