John (Jack) Patrick Ryan

John Patrick (Jack) Ryan, a resident of the Tarrytowns for more than 65 years died September 9, 2010 at the age of 90.

Born in New York City on August 15, 1920, he was the son of Thomas and Margaret Dargan Ryan.

On October 1, 1944, he married Sadie Migliorisi in Immaculate Conception Church. John had been a Contract Administrator for the Aerospace division of Kearfott in Little Falls, NJ.

John was a very active member of the many organizations he belonged to.  With over 50 years of service, he was a Life Active member of Union Hose Company of Sleepy Hollow Fire Department, serving as Secretary for many years. He had also been a member of the SH Fire Department Bowling League, also serving as secretary. He was a member of ITALO where he also served as secretary, the Tarrytown Seniors, the leisure Club and Transfiguration Seniors where he served as social coordinator.  

John was also inducted into the Westchester County Senior Hal of Fame.

John is survived by Sadie, his beloved wife of almost 66 years and his daughters Patricia Ryan of Tarrytown and Janette (Mark) O’Rear of Danbury, CT. He is also survived by his grandson Matthew Ryan O’Rear and his brother Michael of New York City. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas and his sister Rita Ryan Clancy.

Visitation will be at COFFEY FUNERAL HOME on Sunday from 7-9 PM and Monday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. His Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10:00 at Transfiguration Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society 268 S. Broadway
