John F. Stiloski, Jr, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown died February 1, 2018 at the age of 80. John was born in Tarrytown on September 18, 1937 and was the son of John F. and Anna Stelhik Stiloski. He graduated from Washington Irving High School in1955 and Notre Dame University in 1960. He was in The United States Army National Guard from 1961 to 1967. John spent his life helping others. He worked for the City of New York Department of Social Services in Harlem for 40 years. And He had worked at St. Christopher’s Home as well.
He was a member of Glenville Fire Company, an associate member of Riverside Hose and he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. John was a parishioner of the Church of the Magdalene.
John will always be remembered as an avid sports fan. He loved any and all sports. He had been an All County Football Player while at Washington Irving. He loved coaching the children of Tarrytown in baseball and football for many years. He also coached softball for Tarrytown Recreation.
John is survived by his wife Annette, his daughter Laurie Ann (Gilbert) Shelsby and his sons John Francis (Maria) and Darryl Robert (Ursula). John was also the loving grandfather of 8 and great grandfather of 1. Also surviving are his brother Robert (Louise) and his sister Betty Lou (Richard) Mancuso.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Monday from 4PM to 8PM and Tuesday from 5PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be at The Church of the Magdalene on Wednesday at 10:00 with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
