John H. Calvey

John H. Calvey, a longtime Tarrytown resident died April 7, 2017 at the age of 90. Born in Millbrook, NY on October 15, 1926, he was the son of James and Mary Murphy Calvey. John served proudly in the U.S. Navy during WW II. After the service, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree and went on to have a long career in sales.

Jack was also very active in community service having been a member of the Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, an active member of the Republican Party in Tarrytown and he served as a Village Trustee. He was a parishioner of Transfiguration Church.

He was married to Frances Santangelo who predeceased him in 2002. He is survived by his sister Maureen Curran and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Frances, he was predeceased by his sister Brenda Derby.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Monday April 17 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at 10:30 at Transfiguration Church with burial and military honors to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
