Joan V. (Tierney) Wald

Joan V. Wald, a resident of Tarrytown since 1992 died August 29, 2019 at the age of 86. Joan was born in New York, NY on December 18, 1932 and was the daughter of Margaret Carberry and Austin Tierney.

Joan had a long career with Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Field Sales Representative. She was a parishioner of Transfiguration Church, a member of the Tarrytown Seniors and a long-time volunteer at Warner Library. She will be remembered for her strength and sense of adventure. She had a love of travel and had been all over the world.

She is survived by her loving daughters Celia Wald and Kathleen Brennan and her husband Ron Wasserman as well as her loving grandson Michael Brennan and his wife Breanna Mitkowski and her cherished great granddaughter Fiona. Also surviving are her sister Dorothy Ratigan, her dear companion Frank Cofone and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Michael Tierney.
