James J. White

James J. White of Tarrytown died January 13, 2020 at the age of 77. Born in New York City on December 24, 1942, he was the son of Francis and Alice Lennan White. James was raised in Yonkers and lived there for many years before moving to Tarrytown.

On November 13, 1965 he married Lorraine Cetnarowicz in St. Casimir’s Church.

Jim had a long career in various positions of systems management for Montefiore Hospital.

He was an avid sports fan particularly the NY Giants, Yankees and Rangers. He was an avid bowler and he had coached for the Pelton Basketball League and the McLean Heights Baseball League, both in Yonkers. But what brought him his greatest joy was spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren. Surviving are Lorraine, his wife of 54 years, his daughter Sharon (Steven) Tocco; sons Brian (Michelle) and Kevin (Roslyn); as well as his grandchildren John (Courtney), Gina, Connor, Daniel, Steven and Jenna. Also surviving is his sister Mary Ann Ryan. He was predeceased by his sister Anne Ferine and his granddaughter Sinead.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Friday from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at Transfiguration Church at 10:30.
