James P. Paolantonio, a lifelong resident of Sleepy Hollow died July 21, 2018 at the age of 89. James had moved to Ashland, PA a few years ago to be near his daughter.
Born on June 29, 1929 in North Tarrytown, he was the son of Vincenzo and Lucia Galgano Paolantonio. He served proudly in the Unites States Air Force. He then continued his education, earning a Master’s Degree from NYU. James had a long career as an officer with the Internal Revenue Service in White Plains.
On October 24, 1959, he married Dorothy F. Galick in Holy Cross Church. Jim was a Life Active member and Past Secretary of Columbia Hose of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department.
He is survived by his daughters Nancy Paolantonio-Belfer (Roman Belfer) and Susan Paolantonio. He was the loving grandfather of 5 and great grandfather of 4. Also surviving are his brothers Victor, Frank and Angelo. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 2011, his son Mark Paolantonio and his daughter Clare Locilento as well as his brother Anthony.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday at the Church of the Magdalene at 10:00 with interment with Military Honors to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
