James J. Kennedy

James J. Kennedy of Tarrytown passed away peacefully surrounded by his entire family on Tuesday June 25, 2019. He was 72. James was born in Maum Camp, County Kerry Ireland on October 2, 1946 to James and Bridie Kennedy. He immigrated to Ardsley, NY in 1964 where he resided with his aunt and uncle James and Margaret Curran.

Accompanied by his brothers Patrick and Thomas, he entered the construction industry which led to a successful business that spanned 40 years.

James is survived by his loving wife Patricia and their six children Patrick (Meaghan) Bridie, William (Dara), James, John and Thomas. He was a beloved grandfather to Braden, Declan, Charlotte, Reagan, Riley and John. He will be sadly missed by his brothers Johnny, Patrick and Thomas as was well as many nieces, nephews, his sisters-in-law and many friends. He was predeceased by his sister Hannah (Kennedy) Cournane.  

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Friday from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be at Transfiguration Church on Saturday at 10:30 with interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
