Domenica Iannarelli

Domenica (nee Scipioni) Iannarelli died peacefully on August 24, 2017.  Domenica was born on October 19, 1931 in Camarda, Italy to Enrico and Antonia Scipioni.  Domenica grew up in Italy during the Depression and WWII.  She came to America with her mother when the war ended and was reunited with her father.  She had many fond memories of her life in Italy.  After the start of her new life in America, she met and married Antonio Iannarelli on November 24, 1956.  They lived in Croton-on-Hudson from 1960-1974 when they moved to Tarrytown where they raised their six children.

Domenica worked in real estate and loved helping people find their new home, and was an active member of the Transfiguration Seniors and Tarrytown Seniors for many years.

Domenica’s passions were family, cooking and feeding friends and family.  She was an amazing cook who loved to have big Sunday dinners with family and friends.  Her family was her life.  Domenica was a kind and generous person who made everyone feel welcome and important.  She will be missed dearly by all, and her memory will live on forever in our hearts.

Domenica is survived by her husband, Antonio, her children: Vincent of Tarrytown, NY; Theresa (Scott) Uysal of Briarcliff Manor, NY; Anthony (Laura) of Sleepy Hollow, NY; Peter of Beacon, NY; Daniel (Dia) of Pound Ridge, NY; her beautiful grandchildren Emily, Jon, Ava, Ashley and Jennifer (Peter) Parente; great grandchildren Peter Jr. and Amelia Parente.

Domenica is predeceased by her son Eric.

Domenica’s family will receive family and friends at Coffey Funeral Home, 91 N Broadway, Tarrytown, NY on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 4-8 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11:00 am at Church of the Magdalene, 525 Bedford Road, Tarrytown, NY.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation may be made, in her memory, to the American Heart Association.
