Connie (Miele) Minardi

Constance D. "Connie" Miele Minardi, formerly of Hawthorne, NY passed peacefully at Angels Senior Living in Palm Harbor, FL on December 21, 2016 at the age of 64.

She was born in White Plains, NY on April 18, 1952 and was the daughter of Frank and Ernestine "Tina" Stamps Miele. She grew up in Elmsford with her brother Frankie and sister Linda. Connie graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School in 1970 and then from the College New Rochelle School of Nursing in 1972. She worked as a hospital RN until she found her passion for caring for the developmentally and physically disabled. She worked at MRI, St Jude, United Cerebral Palsy, and The Westchester School for Special Children to name a few in her 35 plus year career. She had a special gift for caring and empowering those with special needs. Connie also had a strong love of music, fishing, the New York Yankees, and was her children's biggest cheerleader at their respective sports.

Connie is survived by her son Michael Minardi and his wife Allison of Bradenton, FL, daughter Christine Minardi Rode and her husband Chris of McKinney, TX, grandchildren Jacob Minardi, Avery Rode, and Madelyn Rode, sister Linda Miele Gori of Dunedin, FL, and niece Darlene Benson of Sandy Hook, CT.  In addition to her parents Frank and Tina, Connie is predeceased by her brother Frankie.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.

Memorial visitation will be on Friday April 21 at Coffey Funeral Home from 5 PM to 8 PM with funeral services at 6 PM.
