Vincent J. Corveddu, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown died peacefully at home on March 14, 2024. He was 87 years old. Jim, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Tarrytown on July 9, 1936 and was the son of Quirico and Carmela (DiGraci) Corveddu. He was a graduate of Washington Irving High School and Westchester Community College. Jim served proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1955-1961 during which time he served tours in Cuba, Panama and Lebanon.
Jim was married to Carol Logan who predeceased him.
He was a member of the Washington Irving Boat Club, Tarrytown Little League Baseball where he served as a coach for many years, the American Legion, Catholic War Veterans and the Tarrytown Seniors.
He is survived by his children James, Lorraine and Thomas, his grandson Silas and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. In addition to his wife Carol, he was predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Anthony Corveddu, Frank Abato, and his sisters Mary Rutiglan and Louise Ballas.
Visitation will be on Tuesday March 19 from 4PM to 8PM at Coffey Funeral Home where services will be held on Wednesday March 20 at 10:00AM. Interment with military honors will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
