Jean was born in Albany, NY on February 21, 1936 to the late Leandro and Jennie (Farinacci) Rosetti. She was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph E. Balthazard, who passed away on January 31, 2024. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Josephine (Paul) Hennessy and Lee (Mary) Rosette. She is survived by her brother Richard (Joan) Rosetti. Jean graduated from Cathedral Academy in Albany in 1953 and was recognized by her high school classmates for her Outstanding Disposition. After graduation, she began working as an operator for the phone company in Albany.
In 1956 she married the ‘love of her life,’ Joe, and embarked on a romance that lasted 67 years. In 1962, after having two sons, Mark and Brian, the young family moved from Albany and settled in Tarrytown.
After her sons started school, Jean worked at various jobs, including B. Altman's in White Plains and Temple Beth Abraham in Tarrytown, ending her career back with the phone company, from which she retired along with Joe in 1991. Jean spent her retirement years with Joe, playing golf, wintering in Florida, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jean sang in the Transfiguration Church choir, and was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Tarrytown Seniors, Sleepy Hollow Seniors, and Transfiguration Seniors.
Jean is survived by her sons, Mark (Eileen) Balthazard of Needham, MA and Brian (Geralyn) Balthazard of Tarrytown, NY. Jean is also survived by her grandchildren: Kate (A.J.) Garcia, Julie (Joseph) Fiore, Laura Balthazard (fiance Martin), Christopher (Amber) Balthazard and Samuel Balthazard (fiance Meghan). She was predeceased by her grandson, Brian James Balthazard. She is also great-grandmother to Riley, Luke, Penny and Logan Fiore, and Briana and Jackson Garcia.
Jean spent her final year at Brightview Assisted Living in Tarrytown and the family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the loving aides, nurses, and staff who greatly enhanced her life and treated her like family.
