Mary Joan Kopcinski of Sleepy Hollow died on January 12, 2010. She was 79.
Mrs. Kopcinski was born on December 1, 1930 to Joseph and Anastasia Toomey Kavanagh in New York City. She worked as a bookkeeper for Gristede’s in Irvington. She is survived by her daughters Patricia (Patrick) Cassidy of Monroe and Laura (Thomas) Capossela of Sleepy Hollow as well as 5 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred on July 30, 2004 and her daughter Susan on March 19, 1985. She was also predeceased by 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-8 PM at COFFEY FUNERAL HOME in Tarrytown. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 M at Immaculate Conception Church in Sleepy Hollow. Her interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
She was a loyal supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and in lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105..
