Yolanda da Costa de Carvalho

Yolanda da Costa de Carvalho, a longtime resident of Sleepy Hollow died February 15, 2013 at the age of 72. Born in Brazil on February 18, 1940, she was the daughter of Mario and Nilda Rosa da Costa Baptista. On March 2, 1963, she married Alberto DeCarvalho in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In June 1964 the couple came to New York.

Yolanda was a member of the Portuguese American Cultural Center of Tarrytown, the American Foundation for Charities of Portugal, the Associaco Humanitaria de Salreu and the Catholic Daughters.

She is survived by Alberto her loving husband of 49 years as well as her loving daughters Maria de Carvalho Esteves of Mahopac and Fatima de Carvalho-Gianni (John Gianni) of Tarrytown. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren Chantalle Marie, Gareth Edward, Arielle Kateri, Nathaniel Albert and Giselle Landa Esteves and Brandan Albert, Emily Elizabeth and Kyle Scott Gianni as well as  2 sisters in Brazil.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Sunday (today) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be Monday at 10:00 at St. Teresa of Avila Church with entombment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
