Sr. Margaret Ann (Immaculee) Landry, RSHM, died in Valhalla, NY, October 18, 2016.
Born in West Hartford, CT, on December 8, 1931, to Benedict and Margaret Mary White Landry, she entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary in Tarrytown, NY in 1951.
Sr. Margaret Ann taught at Marymount High School, Arlington, VA; Sacred Heart of Mary High School, Rolling Meadows, IL; Marymount High School, Tarrytown, NY; and in Umtali, Southern Rhodesia (now Mutare, Zimbabwe) at Marymount School and St. Killian’s Mission School.
She was the Assistant Director of Admissions at Marymount Manhattan College, NYC, and the first Director of Academic Advising at the college. She was chaplain at the Catholic Campus Ministry/Interfaith Center at Stony Brook University, Long Island.
Sister Margaret Ann was a member of the Lourdes Hall Community in Tarrytown, NY, at the time of her death.
She is survived by her sisters, Anne Landry Jones of Concord, MA; Marie Landry St. John of Westerly, RI; and Marcia Landry Hagan of Aubrey, TX; and by the members of her religious community.
Services at Marymount Convent, 32 Warren Avenue, Tarrytown, NY. Wake Friday, October 21, 3:00 - 7:30 pm, Vigil Service 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, October 22, 10:00 am. Burial Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her name may be made to Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, 50 Wilson Park Drive, Tarrytown, NY, 10591.
