Sister Georgellen Archibald RSHM died at Marymount Convent, Tarrytown, NY, Thursday, May 12, 2016.

Born Mary Lucy Archibald in New York City, on April 13, 1927, to George and Mary Conlon Archibald, she entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary at Marymount in Tarrytown, NY in 1945.

Sr. Georgellen taught in the Bronx, NY at Sacred Heart of Mary Academy Marmion Ave, St. Thomas Aquinas School; and Mother Butler Memorial High School. She taught in Richmond, VA at Marymount School. She was Directer of Residents and worked in the President’s Office and in the Women’s Center at Marymount Manhattan College and was Coordinator of Services and Programming and assisted in the Admissions Office at Marymount College, Tarrytown. She also worked at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in the Bronx. After retiring she moved to Marymount Convent, Tarrytown, NY..

Predeceased by her parents and a sister, Ellen Frances Monaghan, she is survived by her sister Patricia McCabe and brother-in-law Peter McCabe of Rockville Centre, NY, many nieces and nephews, and by the members of her religious community.

Services at Marymount Convent, 32 Warren Avenue, Tarrytown, NY. Wake Monday, May 16, 3:00 - 7:30 pm, Vigil Service 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, May 17, 10:30 am. Burial Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her name may be made to Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, 50 Wilson Park Drive, Tarrytown, NY, 10591.
