Robert Jules Brown 79 of Ormond Beach Florida, formerly of Mohegan Lake, New York passed away peacefully on March 27th. Robert was predeceased by his wife Maureen (Higle) last March. They were married for almost 54 years. Robert his survived by their four children: Robert, Kelly (Joe Howard), Darlene, and Kevin (Anna). Robert and Maureen were loving grandparents to their six grandchildren: Joey, Bobby, Corey, and Danny Howard, Isabella and Kevin Jules Brown. He is also survived by his sisters Gloria Matzura and Doris Janik and his faithful dog Max.

Robert was born in North Tarrytown on January 12th 1938 to Julius and Eunice Brown.
He graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1956 where he ran track and played football. He once scored 4 touchdowns in a game! He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1958. He remained in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1962. Robert married the love of his life Maureen Higle on May 26th 1962.

Robert was a Police Officer for the Town of Greenburgh for 30 years and retired in 1996 with the rank of Sergeant. Robert and Maureen relocated to Ormond Beach, Florida and lived there for the last 20 years. Robert was an avid softball player and once pitched a no-hitter! He and Maureen enjoyed traveling with their friends and family. In his later years Robert enjoyed visiting his family in New York. He liked hearing his granddaughter sing and watching his grandsons play football and baseball.

Policeman’s Prayer:  God, Grant the strength to enforce with courage. Guide them with a watchful eye.

Visitation will be Friday March 31st at Coffey Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 where services will be held on Friday evening. Interment will be Saturday April 1st at 10:30 at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Maureen Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund.
