Mario 'Mayito' Bernal

Mario ‘Mayito’ Bernal of Tarrytown died February 4, 2018 at the age of 83. Mario was born in Cuba on June 18, 1934 to Mario and Maria Quintana Bernal. He came to the United States in 1966 where he settled and raised his family. Mario was a well-known business man in North Tarrytown. People will remember him as the proprietor of Nite & Day Deli and Las Americas Grocery Store.

Mario is survived by his loving wife Zenaida and his children Maria (Todd) Olson, Mario (Maria) Bernal and Maximo (Kelly McGuire) Bernal. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren Natalie Lopez, Aidan Bernal and Evan Bernal and three sisters Juana Lopez, Flora Almeida and Gertrudes Martinez. He was predeceased by his brothers Miguel and Juan Bernal.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Thursday at 11:00 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Elmsford.
