Maria (Gonzalez) Cuadrado

Maria Garcia Cuadrado, longtime resident of Sleepy Hollow, New York, passed on January 12, 2017, after a brief illness.  She was 81 years old. Maria was born on October 11, 1935 to Secundino Gonazalez Ares and Avelina Garcia Gonzalez and grew up in Villafranca del Bierzo, Spain, moving to the U.S. with her husband Roque (Rocky) Cuadrado in 1966.  She worked at Technicon for many years until she retired to enjoy her loving husband, sisters, nieces and grand-nieces and grand-nephew.  She was a devoted wife to Roque Cuadrado of Sleepy Hollow, NY, who predeceased her in 2012.  She was a loving sister to Rosalia Armesto (Tony) of Tarrytown, NY, who predeceased her in October of 2016, and Carmen Garcia Gonzalez (Rafael Gonzalez Martinez, who predeceased her in November of 2016) of Villafranca del Bierzo, Spain.  She was also a loving aunt to Rosa Venditti (David) of Briarcliff Manor, NY, and Yvette Potter (Neil) of Annandale, NJ.  Her family was her life and she was an incredibly loving and devoted Great Aunt to Lauren, Julia, and Katherine Venditti, of Briarcliff Manor, NY, and Brittany and Ryan Potter, of Jacksonville, FL, all of whom brought her so much joy and contentment and were like grandchildren to her.  Maria enjoyed people and was quick to make you laugh, feel welcomed, and share her wonderful sense of humor.  She was the family historian and she will be missed tremendously.  Arrangements are being handled by Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown, New York, and interment will be in her home town of Villafranca del Bierzo in Spain.
