Maria S. (Correia) Cruz

Maria S. Cruz of Sleepy Hollow died July 24, 2016 at the age of 97. Maria was born in Portugal on December 20, 1918. She was the daughter of Caetano and Santana de Jesus Correia.

When she came to the United States she settled in the Tarrytowns. She had worked many years as a Dressmaker.

Maria was married to Antonio Cruz who predeceased her in 2003.

She is survived by her children Fernanda Xisto, Candida Varanda, Miguel Cruz and Fernando Cruz. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Lucia Ferreira.

Visitation is at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 7 -9 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be on Thursday at St. Teresa of Avila Church at 11:00 with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
