Joseph A. Gizzi

Joseph Angelo Gizzi of Irvington and formerly of Ossining died April 9, 2016 at the age of 86. Born November 26, 1929 in Ossining, he was the son of Giuseppe and Maria Pagliacci Gizzi. He graduated from Ossining High School and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Cortlandt. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. He had been the proprietor of York Surgical in Yonkers for many years until he retired.

Joseph was a member of the Ossining Fire Department’s Monitor Hose Co. #4 since 1952. He was also a member of the Irvington Seniors.

He is survived by his sons Joseph, Gregory, Brian and Christopher and their wives as well as his 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 11:00 at Transfiguration Church in Tarrytown.
