John F Posca

John F. Posca of Sandy Hook, CT and formerly of E. Irvington passed away March 14, 2018 at the age of 82. John was born at home in a caretaker’s cottage at Lyndhurst on August 28, 1935 to Anthony and Clara (Tino) Posca. He was raised in E. Irvington and graduated from Irvington High School. After high school he served in the US Army. During his time in the army he met the love of his life, Nancy Carter in Baltimore, MD. Once out of the military he went back to work at the family business, Posca Servicenter in Tarrytown, where he remained until retiring in 2006.

John was married to his wife Nancy Carter Posca for 55 years until her passing in 2014. He is survived by his three children Stephen Posca, Ronald Posca and Lynn Posca Grote (and her husband Mark). He is also survived by his grandson John Posca, his niece Cindy Posca Sapochetti and his nephew Greg Posca.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, he was predeceased by his brother Nicholas (2014) and his parents.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.
