Janice Butler Delaney of Lewes, DE died peacefully on October 6th surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Delaney.

She was a loving mother to Deborah Monroe (Duncan), Janice Koch, Suzanne Kearney, John Delaney (Jennifer), and Jennifer Delaney; and the cherished grandmother of Jared Koch, Sara Monroe, Jonathan Campbell, Caitlin Campbell, Jack Delaney, and Daniel Delaney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bessie Butler: her husband, Jack Delaney: her siblings, John Butler Jr, Lawrence Butler, Robert Butler, and Kathleen Straka: her niece, Kathy Straka and nephew, Robert Butler.

She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, June Butler and Ann Vanbergen; and many nieces and nephews.

Janice Delaney was born in Yonkers, NY.  She graduated from Roosevelt High School.  She married the love of her life, Jack in 1954.  They retired to Ocean Pines, MA in 1984 and Jack Delaney passed away.  Janice returned to Irvington and resumed her job with the Irvington School District.  She retired and moved to Lewes, DE.

Janice loved her family and friends.  She greatly enjoyed the annual Butler Family Reunion at Rehoboth Beach.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, October 21 from 4pm-8pm at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown, NY and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Transfiguration Church in Tarrytown, NY.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
