Gertrude (Galassi) Guisti

Gertrude Guisti, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown died April 18, 2016 at the age of 90. Born in North Tarrytown on December 15, 1925, she was the daughter of Natale and Filomena Valerino Galassi.

Many people may remember Gertrude from the Hot Dog Wagon she operated on Valley Street across from the former Frank’s Chevrolet. Gertrude had been a member of the Tarrytown Seniors, the Senior Nutrition Program and the Transfiguration Seniors. She loved bingo, playing poker and especially loved her trips to Atlantic City.

She is survived by her daughter Anna Whited of Largo, FL and her grandchildren Bruce Whited of Tarrytown and Donna Naples of Seminole, FL. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Michael, Brittany and Caitlyn Whited and her great-great grandson Graham Whited. Gertrude was predeceased by her son Michael as well as 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30 AM with services at the funeral home at 10:30. Interment will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
