Gerard A. Donohue

Gerard A. Donohue of Tarrytown died September 21, 2017 at the age of 77. Born in Brooklyn on August 6, 1940, he was the son of Gerard A. and Muriel Schmitt Donohue. After attending Iona College, Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy and served proudly for four years. He went on to have a long career in banking. He retired as a vice president for Bank of New York. In his retirement, he consulted part time for Country Bank in Manhattan and was an avid day trader.

Jerry was a parishioner of Transfiguration Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

In 1964, he married Josephine Rey in St. Teresa’s Church in North Tarrytown. Jerry will be remembered as a wonderful family man with great integrity and lover of animals and nature. He would hike for hours on the Rockefeller trails.

Jerry is survived by Josephine, his loving wife of 53 years as well as his loving daughters Suzanne (Peter Lubeck) of Silver Spring, MD, Christine (Blair) Wiseman of Wurtsboro, NY and Kathleen ‘Kady’ Donohue of Portland, ME. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Matthew and Allyson Lubeck and Devin and Blaine Wiseman and by his brother Denis of Ossining. He was predeceased by his grandson Liam Wiseman, his brother Joseph and sister Marie.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Sunday from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be Monday at Transfiguration Church at 10:30 with burial to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
