Emilia (Klestinec) Babic

Emilia Babic formerly of North Tarrytown died October 24, 2017 at the age of 97. She was born February 27, 1920 in Radkovce, Czechoslovakia to Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Klestinec (deceased).  She came to America in 1934 to live with her Aunt Steffy in Yonkers and on February l5, l941 married Frank Babic and moved to North Tarrytown.

Emilia (or Milka as she was known to friends and family) was very active in The Slovak National Sokol, as well as the Altar and Rosary Society in Holy Cross Church.  She loved spending her summers working at Country Clubs in the surrounding area where she was loved by the members.  She was an excellent cook and baker and loved donating food to various organizations and charities.   But most of all, she loved spending time with her son and daughter; she was a wonderful, caring, mother.

She moved to Slovak Gardens in Winter Park Florida in l996 where she enjoyed the weather and teaching crafts to the homeowners.   

She and her husband Frank later moved in with family in North Carolina for several years until they were moved into Assisted Living to make life easier for them.

She is survived by her beloved son Frank and his wife and her beloved daughter Emily and her husband Vincent. She is also survived by her grandchildren Vincent and Michael Terrone and Brad Babic and Marissa Tome, six great grandchildren: Vincent III and Douglas Terrone, Natalie and Christian Terrone, Brynn and Taylor Babic.  She is also survived by her cousin Mike and his wife Helen with whom she spent many happy times.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM when services will be held. Interment will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
