Donald F. Reis

Donald F. Reis, a longtime Tarrytown resident died peacefully at home on April 18, 2017 at the age of 91. Donald was born on December 12, 1925 in Ohio. He was the son of Joseph and Anna Ferguson Reis. After High School, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and near the end of his service, he spent 6 months in India. He went on to attend MIT where he earned a Master’s Degree. Donald became an Aeronautical Engineer and had a long career with Northrup Grumman. While there he worked on several projects involving the crafts that landed on the Moon.

He was an active member of the Reformed Church of the Tarrytowns and was a member of the Tarrytown Seniors. He will be remembered as a man who took great pride in his family whom he was devoted to.

He was married to Harriet (Foster) who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter Sharon (Anthony) Balsamo and his grandchildren Andrew and Elizabeth Balsamo.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Thursday (today) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be at the Reformed Church 42 N. Broadway Tarrytown on Friday at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Reformed Church of the Tarrytowns would be appreciated.
